Metronidazole is used for treating a range of infections. It is from the class of antibiotics which is known as nitroimidazoles. It functions by discontinuing the bacteria and protozoa growth.
This antibiotic just treats protozoal and bacterial infections. It will not be working for viral infections (e.g., flu, common cold). Unnecessary usage or overuse of any of the antibiotic medication can cause its reduced effectiveness.

Dizziness, diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, nausea, constipation, loss of appetite, dry mouth and changes in taste may happen. If any of these effects worsen or persist, inform your physician.
This medication might make the urine to darken in color. This is not hurtful.
